HEMET, California – It’s been over 20 years since Father of the Bride II was released in theaters and today director Charles Shyer confirmed in an interview that the third installment of the critically acclaimed franchise would begin filming early next year in Hemet, California. Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and most of the cast of the sequel have signed on though the magazine was told that Martin Short has not been confirmed and negotiations with the actor are still underway. It appears that the film will go on with or without him though insiders are suggesting that he’s very likely to join the cast.

Very few details of the plot have been released as of yet except that it will center around Megan, the second daughter of George and Nina Banks, who has decided to get married while in college. Mr. Shyer has hinted that this will be the final film in the franchise.

  1. I would love to see it filmed in Hemet, and most definitely will be watching it when it comes to theaters. Love the first 2 father of the brides.

  2. Are they gonna be using extras from hemet

  3. They can use my house if they will put in a backyard for me!

  4. I absolutely loves both movies. I am happy to hears there I’ll another.
Thanks for making such heartwarming movies.

  5. Sounds great would like to be an extra and always wanted to try acting maybe not to late turned 70 last year !

  6. I loved the second one. I didn’t like the first because it was exactly like Elizabeth Taylor’s version. I would love the 3rd one.

  7. Happy the previous cast members have signed on and hope Martin Short will, also. #1 & 2 were funny! Can’t wait for #3!

  8. I have lived in the mountains above Hemet for many years. Hemet used to be a nice town; now it’s actually dangerous. I do grocery shopping there,a few other things…now head to Desert tho it’s just as bad there. Guess I’ll just stay on the mountain. Yeah, they’ll stay in Temecula.

  9. At least there is a ready supply of hookers and crack on Florida Avenue for cast and crew. Are there plans to hire Seal Team 6 for protection? They’ll need it for sure if they are seriously planning on filming in He!et.

  10. I cant wait for the movie. But hemet dont think so.. i would do Temecula or Murrieta

My guess is that they will use Golden Era studios in Gilman Hot Springs. They can build a set of whatever scenes they want.
