CHICO, California – In a big surprise to everyone in Los Angeles, pop superstar Katy Perry claims in a new interview that she is moving to the Chico, California area. She tells the magazine that she is “tired of the L.A. lifestyle” and is looking for a big change in life.
“I’m just tired of the L.A. lifestyle and the fake people, honestly, and I feel like, at this point in my life, I’d rather just live in a place full of real, genuine people. I’ve been to Chico a few times over the years and the people there are real… they’re genuine people, and yeah every community has its problems but the people here are good, decent people and they care about their community. Those are the things I find most important in deciding where to live,” Perry told the magazine.
“I’m not retiring, I’m just looking for a change in life and I think I’ve found that in Chico,” Perry reassured fans. Let us know what you think in the comments section below especially if you’re a resident of the Chico, California area.

That’s awesome. It be a nice change for this area to have such a big star to be here. I’m in oroville and travel to chico EVERY week she’s right the people are great there lots of art and music festivals, family fun events hope to see her here. And it’s kinda neat that a celebrity will be living close.
If you really make the move…welcome. You are right that the people are genuine and we care about each other. Yes, we have our small town problems but we support the community residents when help is needed. Our town is beautiful and restful. Get ready to get a few hours back in your day without that LA commute. Quality air plus some quality time= Zen for Katy.

Wait until she figures out that she can do nothing without star struck idiots barraging her every move. Other stars that have a connection to chico simply have to leave because people in chico are not used to being around celebrities. People make it difficult for celebrities to do anything. In LA she just blends in and is one of thousands of stars. In chico she will not be able to eat a meal in peace. Ask Aaron Rodgers what it is like. there is a reason he does not spend time in chico anymore.
She said Chico area, not specifically Chico. Paradise already has it’s share of celebrities and they are very low key and just a part of the community. Welcome.

There are many communities surrounding the Chico area with smaller populations and for the rich in Chico, security gates. With her dad being a pastor Im glad shes getting away from it all and probably getting some much needed R&R time. Frankly I am hoping to get out of the Chico area. The Chico ER is filled with problems in Wed edition of police reports and I find it quite upsetting to know a friend got her purse stolen and another got their car stolen.
